Banner Botta
Daniel Gomez
Singer songwriter Daniel Gomez, originally from Venezuela, grew up listening to his father’s record collection of songwriters such as Pablo Milanes, Joan Manuel Serrat, and Silvio Rodriguez. Fascinated with their melody and eloquence Botta wrote his first song at the tender age of 8. Later in life Botta was influnced by the sounds of Seattle`s grunge (Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Nirvana) and Latin Rock by Soda Stereo as well as Great Britain Pop rock bands such as The Cure. In the mid 90`s Botta was the front man for La Matriz del Sistema (eventually Papas Underground) playing the DC/Virginia/Maryland circuit and sharing the stage with many local and international acts. After releasing two records with La Matriz, Botta`s academic goals took him to the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts, where he pursued and obtained a degree in Sound Design and Engineering. During this period he released two independent records “Humano” (1998) and “Resurrection” (2000). In 2002 Botta formed “Pocket Hero” a “Spanglish” British Pop Rock/Emo band and actively played the local scene. Botta, a compulsive songwriter, also put out two reflective and introspective EP`s. “Apartamento Music”(2004) and “Teetering on the brink” (2005). In 2006 Botta came back to the DC area and joined forces with old friend drummer Seth Elias (former member of Controversia) later joining with local talent bassist Tim MacCabe, forming a power trio. Their independent album “Pedazos de mi en el tape” (2007) a mixture of Latin pop rock and “Trova” with hints of contemporary songwriters like Ryan Adams. Melodic richness, lyric content and mature song structure makes “Pedazos de mi en el tape” it Botta’s best album yet..
Tim MacCabe
Tim MacCabe was born and raised in the Northern Virginia area. The youngest of four children, Tim had an interest in music at an early age. Bands like Pink Floyd,The Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin were some of the first Tim can remember hearing. He recalls experiencing these group's for the first time as "Life changing". In 1987 Tim joined his first band, LTR. The band was together into the early 90's, and dabbled in hard rock, punk, and improvisation. By 1995 Tim had moved on and started a new group, Tunnel Six, with a talented song writer and friend. Tunnel Six toured extensively in Colorado playing original rock music. But, by the end of the 90's, it was again time to move on, and T6 played it's last show on New Years eve 1999. Tim currently resides in Northern Virginia and continues to pursue his love of music. A song writer himself, Tim spends much of his time in his home studio writing and recording. Through sheer luck or maybe fate, Tim met Daniel Gomez a very talented song writer in his own right, and has been blessed with his current band BOTTA...
