Show at Portales went great, new songs sounded solid and we saw a lot of head banging and foot taping, we went up on stage kind of late (midnight) so we lost some bodies towards the end but good show overall, Sexta Vocal was supporting act and did a great job!
Botta will be performing at Portales Underground in Alexandria Oct 24th 2010, We'll be test driving some of our new songs and some 90's covers! - Daniel spoke to Chris Osorio at 950am on a very pleasant Radio Interview, really good questions! Thanks Chris!

Merry Christmas everybody! Well, learning all the guitar tracks has set us back on the recording process. Daniel rented an API preamp and finished all vocals with just an SM58 in his room…”less is more” right?
Carlos Romero quits Botta for personal reasons. Daniel will have to finish all guitar tracks. So long and good luck.
Platinum Producer Jim Ebert (Butch Walker, Meredith Brooke) has agreed to mix a couple of songs for our album! Really excited about this.
Recording. Most guitars, keyboards, bass and drums are done. Vocals for some of the songs were done with Newmann U87 but we might switch to other mics. Most of Daniel’s tracks are done with his new American Telecaster and the acoustic Larrivee, most leads and arpegios seem to work with Les Paul.
Recording. Second mayor two day session with drums, we’ve actually decided to do a few tracks live “Nave Vida” came out great at first shot, I like it when that happens. We will be doing Vocals during the next few weeks.
Recording. We have been doing guitars at Nazca Records and at Daniel’s house with pro tools, this is really exciting, we have been working on using the right amp-guitar-mic combination for every tune.
Recording. We decided to do some bass at Nazca Records, actually not too bad, we micked Tim’s ampeq, got a DI trough a pre-amp and a room mic. Got a couple of tunes done today. Very happy about particularly about Ladron.
Recording. First two day session completed. It was a sticky one! New room didn’t have AC yet, Seth worked really hard, we played “scratches” along with him, some scratch tracks were previously recorded. It was awesome to have so many snare sounds (Black Beauty, Chad Smith, Yamaha maple, Bubinga etc) Thanks to Claudio from Papas Underground for providing some fancy snares.
Songwriting Contest Award!!The title song “Pedazos de mi en el tape” was a finalist at the Indie International Songwriting Contest under “best rock song” category!!! Very excited!
Recording Begins! Everything ready for the first drum session. Seth has been working his ass off with click tracks, all tempos are agreed upon. We are using the new room at SPL with 20’ ceilings, really excited about that.
Songs for new album defined. We have decided on the songs that will be tracked , we came from 21 down to 17 then 14, probably will end up with around 11 tracks for the new album.
